    PUR in-situ foam

    This mainly closed-cell polyurethane (PUR) foam is ideal for the seamless insulation of irregularly shaped surfaces.

    Its excellent adhesive properties enable the sheet metal casing to protect the surface against weather and impacts and to act as a vapour retarder at the same time. Water-propelled polyurethane foam has no ozone-depletion potential (ODP = 0). Insulation with polyurethane foam conserves the Earth's atmosphere and so helps to protect the climate.

    Special heated high-pressure hoses carry the two components of the polyurethane foam to a spray pistol. They combine in the mixing chamber of the pistol and produce the pressure necessary to spray the polyurethane foam between the component and the sheet metal casing, KAEFER Industrie GmbH

    Applications for polyurethane foam

    Polyurethane foam is highly versatile. It is used as heat and cold insulation in commercial and residential applications, as well as for cold stores and refrigeration plants. This flexible insulation system is the ideal solution for structurally demanding areas or large dimensions. This sophisticated technology is of top quality and can be applied right on site in a short space of time.

    Procedure

    Polyurethane foam can be applied on site in a manual casting method or sprayed using mobile machines.

    PUR cast foam

    is poured into the cavities of sealed sheet metal constructions. In combination with precisely worked sheet metal this creates a high-quality insulation.

    PUR sprayed foam

    consists of two components which are carried to a spray pistol by heated high-pressure hoses. They combine in the mixing chamber of the pistol and produce the pressure necessary to spray the polyurethane foam between the component and the sheet metal casing. Depending on humidity and temperature the foam is cured within 20 to 30 seconds. This means that subsequent work can be carried out straight away without waiting. With hoses of up to 90 metres in length our spraying machines are highly flexible. This sophisticated technology can be applied in top quality, right on site, in a short space of time.
